I was kindly invited by the organizers of BLACKOUT to document this amazing event and here’s what I’ve created. What is Blackout? Answer: Watch the video.
My favorite exhibit was definitely Effervescene by Chng Nai Wee. The field of lights were just so mesmerizing that I couldn’t help but gawk at it the first time I saw it. Yes… blinky lights. I’m attracted to that kinda thing, and so were my fellow spinners from Starlight Alliance who are also featured in the video.

Yesterday was my last day working at muvee Technologies. After a brilliant 3.5 years, and all I can say is Thank you, thank you, humbly… Thank you. I will forever remember being interviewed over the phone in my pajamas, and packing up my life (and two cats) in Melbourne to come home for this job, and boy… that was probably the best move I’ve ever made. I have learnt so much from everyone, and I sincerely hope that I have given back, just as much, to my fellow colleagues and friends at muvee.
Here are some of my fondest memories of muvee:

Enjoying the cultural exchange with international colleagues like Em (Sri Lanka), Berryguard (Canada) and Cooper (UK), and the furbie too...

Working in the coolest office that had no issues with staff periodically sporting purple/green/red/orange hairdos
And so… I bid farewell with a happy heart and I wish muvee all the very best as we go our separate ways. Though… I’m pretty sure that our paths will cross again in the future. Meanwhile… I’m looking forward to being a part-time traveler, a freelance videographer and a full-time creative hobo for awhile! Whoolooloo!
Here’s the music video that I worked on a few months ago. Am incredibly proud that it’s a true misc (Made In Singapore Collective) production, because we really rocked as a team behind the video. Cheryl directed, Yean shot, Mickey on sound, Gen produced, Pam, Sha, Lena and so many others like myself, contributed in what little ways we could. We shot at Raw Kitchen – which is an awesome restaurant (276 Upper Bukit Timah Road) and despite my lack of an R&B groove I still think that the song is really beautiful and fitting with the music video. Once again… it was our dearest friend, Syakirin Samad who stole the show with his amazing motion graphics. Look out Beijing! If you don’t hire him, you’re obviously blind to his talent! As for me… my role on this project was really relaxed… behind-the-scenes photographer. Here are some samples:
Spent last weekend with my dear friend Arthur Bumblebee posing in front of a camera. We were trying to get a decent photo of him to use for his next presentation. Here are some of the shots that didn’t make the cut for obvious reasons…

Arthur BumbleBee does his best Zoolander impression...
And here’s what we finally got after a whole lotta coffee and Lily Allen playing at full blast! Obviously… there’s tons of room for improvement. Erm… yeah… there’s enough room for a whole family of 20 really… Perhaps I should go learn how to properly light a subject in a studio, instead of mucking around like a monkey behind the lens, and always hoping for favorable lighting conditions. Whoolooloo…

Here’s a stop-motion piece that my colleague TC and I created for shwup.com. Equipment Setup: Nikon D80 (D90 for pickup shots), a tripod with ball head, weights, a pool table with overhead light sources, USB sync cable, laptop loaded with Nikon Camera Control Pro 2 and a whole lot of patience…
My colleague, Gerry, gave me a surprise present earlier this week. He knew that I loved cycling and that I’ve been touched by the Cancer community, so it was most appropriate that his gift was a book written by Lance Armstrong, ‘It’s Not About The Bike, My Journey Back to Life’.

Rode my bicycle into work today! Despite a late start and the ultra busy roads in Singapore, I really enjoyed my morning ride today. I didn’t get honked at by angry drivers, and I still got into work right on time! Whoohoo! Tim, my colleague was so excited when he heard my bike come in, that he stood up and gave me a hoot of joy! Yup! Everyone deserves a cheer when they ride to work! Believe it or not… I shave 15mins off my usual traveling time when I choose to cycle instead of taking the MRT. Hahha!
After a quick shower, I went into the pantry and found… Lo-and-behold! A whole bag of Hersheys chocolates! Yyyyaaaayyyyy! Score! Oh happy day… oh happy day… oh happy day…

Received this beautiful gift this morning from my dear colleague who’s just returned from Sikkim, India where he trekked up the world’s 3rd highest mountain. The mountainous regions where he went were populated by many Tibetan exiles, and so he bought me a little prayer wheel with the simple mantra – Om mani padme hum. I love this little mantra, and I’ve chanted it millions of times in all sorts of stable/altered states of mind. Aahhh… I love this little gem. Apparently you’ve got to spin it in the clockwise direction and accumulate good karma! Whoohoo! We’re all spinning it at work.
This is an exciting week! I’ve just returned from a holiday in Thailand and straight into the launch of our company’s latest offering… *drumroll*… Introducing muveeReveal!
It’s bigger and better than before! We’ve worked like hell to make video editing as painless as possible, so please check out our FREE download here. Meanwhile… checkout how muvee Reveal has turned my random holiday photos+videos into a cool little video production! Sure beats boring slideshows huh?
Anyway… Thailand was all that I hoped it to be. The land of smiles, sunshine, good food and brilliant Thai massages. We hung out with Dad’s best friend – Uncle SongChai and his family, who were the best guides ever. They helped us to bargain down prices at every market, brought us to local joints to enjoy authentic Thai cuisine, and brought us to the beautiful seaside town of Hua Hin (2hrs south of Bangkok), where we seriously indulged in the lap of luxury at Dusit Thani resort. Brilliant! Loved every minute of it… didn’t want it to end. Hahha!
