I have been watching this video over and over again, and it just gets better every time. Thank you Nevisoul (Thomas), may your passion for poi never fade. I hope to see you on the playa and I also hope that you’ll come for Bornfire in Singapore later this year! :) To find out more about Nevisoul, feel free to check out the blog.

I was kindly invited by the organizers of BLACKOUT to document this amazing event and here’s what I’ve created. What is Blackout? Answer: Watch the video.

My favorite exhibit was definitely Effervescene by Chng Nai Wee. The field of lights were just so mesmerizing that I couldn’t help but gawk at it the first time I saw it. Yes… blinky lights. I’m attracted to that kinda thing, and so were my fellow spinners from Starlight Alliance who are also featured in the video.

Here’s the latest video I’ve done for SEIKO. Kudos to all those who shared their SEIKO stories! And for the rest of you out there who want to win a spiffy new watch… find out more about the SEIKO contest!

Here’s a great little video of my dearest friend Paul doing a cover of one my favorite songs by Lior – This Old Love. This song brings back so many bittersweet memories of my last year in Melbourne. It was one heck of a rollercoast year in 2005, but in a blink of an eye, its 2009 and so much has changed. Change for the better, change for the worse… nonetheless, it goes to show the impermanence of Life. Meanwhile… please check out some of Paul’s other great videos on his youtube channel. Beware… he loves to sing into a broomstick and wear crazy headgear sometimes. :P Paul: I love the new microphone, the sound is brilliant.

Here’s the music video that I worked on a few months ago. Am incredibly proud that it’s a true misc (Made In Singapore Collective) production, because we really rocked as a team behind the video. Cheryl directed, Yean shot, Mickey on sound, Gen produced, Pam, Sha, Lena and so many others like myself, contributed in what little ways we could. We shot at Raw Kitchen – which is an awesome restaurant  (276 Upper Bukit Timah Road) and despite my lack of an R&B groove I still think that the song is really beautiful and fitting with the music video. Once again… it was our dearest friend, Syakirin Samad who stole the show with his amazing motion graphics. Look out Beijing! If you don’t hire him, you’re obviously blind to his talent! As for me…  my role on this project was really relaxed… behind-the-scenes photographer. Here are some samples:

This show looks so amazing! I love how his work is simple and straight to the point. The mockery, and the in-your-face provocativeness of the pieces speaks volumes. I especially love the series of caged animals. It so beautifully illustrates how cruel animal testing is and how toxic our food has become. Applause! Applause!

Alrighty! Here’s what I’ve been busy with on the weekends! Editing these little video tutorials to contribute to the worldwide poi community playpoi better! :P So… here’s No Beat Windmill:

And Shifting Planes – Stall and Cubing:

It’s my favorite season in Singapore! Durian Season! Yummy yum yum! Unfortunately, my dear poifriends don’t seem to agree. Whoops…

This is my dearest German friend Karsten, who was so sweet to remake his tutorial on Spiral Wraps in English because I begged him to. And the results are bloody hilarious! He says: I’ll do it again! I promise, but i thought that might be a good example of “how not to do it”. :P You can also check out his blog CaPoiEira too!

Dear Wayne,

It’s been two years since you’ve left. I still miss you. I miss your colorful socks, your dangling earring, in the shape of a skeleton. I miss your amazing smile, and your warm hugs. Your wonderful antics, on and off stage. We’re doing great back here. Rock for Wayne DVD is finally out in the stores. We’re incredibly proud of this DVD. The local music scene needs more visual records like this for posterity’s sake. You’d be proud too if you saw it. Meanwhile… look what I dug up from my video archives. This one is from the time you boys played as The Suns, back in Melbourne. Crazy nights with my crazy boys. So much love, so much laughter, so much music.
