I have been watching this video over and over again, and it just gets better every time. Thank you Nevisoul (Thomas), may your passion for poi never fade. I hope to see you on the playa and I also hope that you’ll come for Bornfire in Singapore later this year! :) To find out more about Nevisoul, feel free to check out the blog.

I was kindly invited by the organizers of BLACKOUT to document this amazing event and here’s what I’ve created. What is Blackout? Answer: Watch the video.

My favorite exhibit was definitely Effervescene by Chng Nai Wee. The field of lights were just so mesmerizing that I couldn’t help but gawk at it the first time I saw it. Yes… blinky lights. I’m attracted to that kinda thing, and so were my fellow spinners from Starlight Alliance who are also featured in the video.

This is a special video request for my dear friend Alistair. :) Hey Alistair… as promised! Here’s a video of the Zip Orb in action. Hope that you get the idea. It’s loads of unpredictable fun. Hahah!

Alrighty! Here’s what I’ve been busy with on the weekends! Editing these little video tutorials to contribute to the worldwide poi community playpoi better! :P So… here’s No Beat Windmill:

And Shifting Planes – Stall and Cubing:

This is my dearest German friend Karsten, who was so sweet to remake his tutorial on Spiral Wraps in English because I begged him to. And the results are bloody hilarious! He says: I’ll do it again! I promise, but i thought that might be a good example of “how not to do it”. :P You can also check out his blog CaPoiEira too!

So I spent the weekend on a cruise-to-nowhere and I came face-to-face with 2000 dirty greedy faces, stuck on a floating casino, eager to gamble their days away. Or engage in extra-marital affairs, smoke, drink or stuff their faces at the buffet line.

Here’s our home video of a most awesome poi retreat organized by Nick Woosley from playpoi.com in beautiful Bali a couple of weeks ago! We had an awesome open-aired studio for daytime lessons, a swimming pool to swim in anytime of day, and a spacious amphitheater to spin fire at night. It was definitely poi-paradise…

More importantly, I made new poifriends from all over the world. It felt like we were a brand new family that knew no bounds between race, religion, age and politics. This is a group of people that I will forever hold dear in my heart, and I can only hope to keep crossing paths with them from here on out.

Been nursing my growing interest in Poi for the past few months now. Yes. I’m still a complete newbie with a VERY limited set of Poi skills, but I’ve found a really awesome online archive of tutorials from this guy called Nick Woosley available at Playpoi.com. His video tutorials are a real eye-opener and he just makes Poi so much for fun and easy to learn!

So, I spent the weekend at Sentosa re-igniting my love for this wonderful art when I got to play with a pair of fire Pois! My first experience is hard to describe, but it was definitely a mix of awe, fear and amazement. Just the whirling sound of the Pois were enough to send shivers down the back of my spine. Whoolooloo!
